Georgia coach Kirby Smart met with the media Monday to preview Saturday's game against Tennessee.

Here are some notes and quotes from Smart's availability:

– Smart says Tennessee "has done a tremendous job." He said he has a lot of respect for Josh Heupel and "always have." "His entire staff has done a great job with all the work they've done," he said.

– Smart on Tennessee's offense and quick starts: "They go really fast. They get a lot of at-bats in terms of possessions. They do start fast."

– Smart said that Georgia prepared for Tennessee's offense in the offseason and during its bye week to have more time to get ready for this weekend's game. "It is a challenge to get ready for," he said. Smart noted that the Vols' system is very unique and they have a plan of attack based on how opponents are going to play them.

– Smart said he doesn't take anything away from last season's game vs. Tennessee. "No comparison. ... They're completely different," he said.

– Smart on what makes the Vols' wide receivers special: "Speed, space, scheme, talented arm. ... You could have the best receivers in the world and they get open all the time. If you don't have someone that can get it to them – they've got someone who can protect them and get it to them. That's a challenge for us this week."

– Smart says Hendon Hooker has another year of experience playing in Tennessee's offense and "he's one step ahead of where he was." He mentioned that his decision making and his processing is better, and the players around him are better. "They've improved around him, and he's improved," Smart said.
