Most of the sports talking heads claim that Rodgers is the odds on favorite to win the NFL MVP Award this season. For the record, I think he is a fine choice, although if I had a vote, I'd give it to J.J. Watt. In looking at the stats, Peyton had a higher completion percentage, threw for more TDs, and more yards. He also ranked no lower than 6th in the league in TDs, Yards, Yards per attempt, QB rating, and completion percentage. Both the Packers and Broncos had 12 regular season wins and earned the #2 spot in their respective conferences. I'm not making a case for Manning to win the MVP. I do find it interesting that he out performed the presumptive MVP in a number of statistical categories, finished within a couple of spots of him in the other categories, and led his team to an identical record and is getting ZERO consideration for the award. Has he set the standard so high that 39 TDs and 4700+ yards doesn't even earn him a mention as an MVP candidate?
