Recruiting Update

As you may know by now, 2025 four-star TE Dasaahn Brame committed to the Oregon Ducks.

The Vols were in this all the way to the end, and to be honest, I'm not sure this one is over.

On the other hand, Tennessee already has a talented four-star TE on board with Jack Van Dorselaer. It would have been the dream situation to pair them but getting 1 out of 2 isn't bad at all.

Recruiting Thoughts

The Vols did not land their four-star TE target in Dasaahn Brame, but it isn't the end of the world. Jack Van Dorselaer is already in the boat and has been for some time now. I'm not sure that the Brame situation is done as I expect Coach Alec Abeln to continue recruiting the Kansas native

The next target that is set to announce that has a date out if four-star WR Travis Smith Jr. who has a July 13 date, but never rule out random pops, it happens quite a bit.

The Vols should love where they are with quite a few priorities as July is about to start, as well as the final stretch to kick-off of the 2024 season.

Are the Vols poised to land their Top Priority QB of 2026?

2026 four-star QB Faizon Brandon is set to announce his commitment on August 3rd, prior to his junior season.

The Vols have prioritized Brandon for quite some time, having the North Carolina native on campus for various camps and visits.

Brandon is down to four schools, Alabama, LSU, North Carolina State, and Tennessee.

We had a chance to see the Grimsley (NC.) student-athlete in action for the Elite 11 regional in Atlanta. At that time the Vols were the, "top school," for the talented prospect. Evaluation wise, Brandon is very raw, but also young. The base talent is very nice, but the upside is ever more impressive. Is Rocky Top set to be a revolving door for QBs from college to the NFL? Only time will tell, but Josh Heupel has done an amazing job.

Hendon Hooker and Joe Milton were draft picks, with the current roster containing former five-star QB Nico Iamaleava, four-star Jake Merklinger, and have their 2025 guy with an in-state four-star talent, George McIntyre.

Did UGA just help UT on the recruiting trail?

2025 four-star Westlake (Ga.) WR Travis Smith Jr. is believed to be deciding between 4 schools, Alabama, Auburn, Tennessee, and the in-state school UGA.

Just a short time ago UGA landed the commitment of 2025 WR Landon Roldan, which gives them four wide receivers in the class at the moment. Will that open the door more for the other three, specifically Tennessee?

Smith is set to announce on July 13, and it will be interesting to see how this new commitment impacts his decision, if it does at all.
