Unbelievable performance from him in this game. Then our luck he goes down with a bad looking turning of his ankle. When I did this it took me six months before I was back to 100%. Now we have three players out with injuries. Barnes said that the first half was the worse half of basketball for him that he has seen since he has been here. Coming back from 20 points down to make it a game was fun to watch.

Rick Barnes says Knecht "rolled" his ankle after stepping on someone's foot on the play he was fouled on late in the second half.

Following the game, Knecht was on crutches with his left ankle wrapped. He was putting some weight on that foot but not a lot from what I could see.

As Tennessee looks to keep in-state talent at home, one future target to remember is 2026 ATH/DB Justin Hopkins.

He was recently on campus to see the Vols in action.

"I’m a very versatile defensive back and I can play pretty much anywhere you put me on the field."

I'm hearing this morning that Tennessee running backs coach Jerry Mack is a serious candidate for Middle Tennessee's head coaching opening and will be interviewed soon. Source told VolReport that Mack is "100% interested" and would like to take over the Blue Raiders' program following the firing of Rick Stockstill if presented the opportunity.

Mack, a Memphis native, has been with the Vols since 2021 after serving as Rice's offensive coordinator, quarterbacks coach and associate head coach between 2017-2020. He's also a former head coach, having held the position at North Carolina Central from 2014-17.
