As of yesterday.

To put that in perspective:

- There are about 130 FBS programs. If each signs 20 newcomers (that # may be high due to Covid/Super Seniors), that means there are about 2,600 FBS spots to fill. If the average is 15, then there are only 1,950 spots.

Now, there are two primary things that I see from this.

- There are a lot of portal guys who aren't going to find a home.

- There are a lot of HS seniors who would've been FBS in the past who are going to be FCS now. Guys who would've been FCS in the past who will be D2/D3/NAIA or walk-ons this year. It is likely the most difficult year in history for a HS player to get recruited (Class of 2021 was a close second with no camps, but at least there was no super senior effect, and the portal was somewhat smaller).

The extra 7 spots allowed for transfers leaving late helped to mitigate this effect, but it doesn't help schools that have been stable and were above the 85 limit this past year. They won't be able to take advantage of this bonus in most cases.

One other fact that is under-appreciated. The NCAA dropped the ACT/SAT requirement due to Covid. That means there are many fewer guys headed to Juco than is normal. But the same number of guys is coming out of Juco. So, there will be more full qualifiers in the class of 2022 than ever, most likely.

Going to be very interesting to see this sort itself out over the next 4-5 years.
