Wanya Morris- Future 5 Star who Farrell and other national guys have raved about. He had his pick of SEC schools but ultimately beat out Auburn.
Lakia Henry- 4 Star and #1 JUCO defensive player in the country who Farrell has also raved about.
Jackson Lampley- 4 Star legacy who Auburn made a priority among some other SEC heavy hitters
Ramel Keyton- 4 star with offers all over the country who we beat out Auburn for. Also will greatly help with the 3 big time Marrieta underclassmen he is teammates with.
Jackson Lowe- Soon to be 4 star (1 position ranking away) who was made a priority by Ohio State and Bama before picking the Vols. Big body TE who is an ideal fit in our offense.
LaDarius Cox- Soon to be 4 star (confirmed by Chad Simmons) who is ideal fit in 3-4 size wise. Beat Georgia out for his commitment.
Sean Brown- Beat out Auburn and LSU for another ideally sized TE. Meat hooks for hands, tree trunk legs and still growing while already 6’5 250. Can play TE, H Back, DE or possibly even OT if he continues growing. Simmons has confirmed he will move up to a 5.6 even without camping and will be watched closely this season as a SR for a future bump.
Darrel Middleton- the wild card lottery ticket. 6’6 280 and everyone from the Knoxville area knows that talent has never been a problem. He is very athletic and had him rated a 4 star before immaturity derailed his a career that had offers from all over the SEC as a 15/16 year old. Some maturity has taken place over the years and has a chance to prove it at the JUCO level. But at the end of the day there aren’t many 6’6 280 guys who move as athletically as Middleton.
Just a reminder that Auburn played in the SEC Championship last year as you ponder us taking them to the woodshed so far this year.
By all accounts (Our mods and Farrell) we are in pole position for the #1 and #2 players in the country. Astonishing to think about coming off the disaster last year and late start Pruitt got due to the Currie debacle.
Pretty cool to think about what this staff will be able to do when they can sell more than 4 wins and hope. I love that Pruitt wants kids to camp to earn an offer rather than just taking kids. Hopefully the instate kids come to camp ready to compete because this staff has proven they are getting to get players regardless of if the instate kids want to come or not (if they are even able to commit). Compete and toughness seems to be the key words in Pruitt’s coaching vocabulary.
