After hosting Trey Smith over the weekend, the Vols staff scattered Sunday to start another week of visits and the last week of in-homes till January. The dead period starts one week from today (12-12-16) and runs through January 11th.

So it's a big week to get in front of prospect for a final time before the month long dead period.

That's why every college coach in the country was on the run on Sunday.

Tennessee offensive coordinator Mike DeBord and offensive line coach Don Mahoney were in North Carolina to see offensive lineman T.J. Moore.

Head coach Butch Jones and running backs coach Robert Gillespie made an in-home visit with running back Cam Akers. Interesting move by Tennessee to go this early with many thinking Akers may end up choosing to not be a midterm enrollee.

Assistant Tommy Thigpen was to see LaBryan Ray and commitment Will Ignont

On Monday, Jackson, Tennessee will be a popular place as Trey Smith is supposed to visit with a trio of schools before his Tuesday announcement. Nick Saban, Urban Meyer, and Vol assistant coaches will visit with Smith at some point on Monday. Remember, Butch Jones went in last Monday. We expect DeBord and Mahoney as well as Thigpen are likely who will make the final visit to see Smith who is a mid-term enrollee.

The question is how long will each school get with Smith. It seems like the family wants some time on Monday night which means the visit from the trio of schools are likely to come during school hours or early afternoon.

The feeling is that Tennessee had a good weekend with him as he got to spend alot of time with players.

Tennessee is at this point planning on hosting two official visitors this weekend, Keisean Nixon a defensive back from Arizona Western C.C., and OL commitment Riley Locklear.
