What a tour de force on how to royally fvck up a game. Sure, Molinar has to have better awareness not to get a 10 second call. But someone on that coaching bench has to have some awareness to either yell at Molinar or get a time out called. Their entire bench had no idea why the ref blew the whistle.
Then, to not go for a 2 for 1 is dumb as hell. But even if you’re not going to, at least run offense. Why are you running 20 seconds off the clock, putting yourself up against the shot clock all the while ensuring Auburn gets the last shot. They’re going to have enough time no matter what so run your offense and at least try to get a decent shot.
Also really impressed with their dedication to staying with the switch on the high pick and roll every time and allowing Smith to get matched up on Molinar. Because when Auburn has a 30% 3 or shooter coming off a screen with the dribble, you just have to make sure he doesn’t get the shot off and instead make him pass the ball to the assumed #1 pick that is being guarded by a guy that is 9 inches shorter than him. Also, no reason to double him and make someone else beat you.
