I will admit I let anger get the best of me as it approaching halftime. I was pissed for these kids. 21-0 is on the coaches as much as the kids (at that time). We pay these guys in Brinks Trucks every month to bring the obvious teachings, along with the intangibles, and have them mentally and physically ready to play (the first half). Guys, they weren't...and I was pissed...and cursed, screamed and tore at my shirt (nothing galactic, mind you...my kids weren't too far away) because yes you want to win, but you hate it for these kids (even more so if you played sports growing up and competed hard, and if you have kids who play sports). There is some selfishness of being fan,,, also tacking on you know those kids were trying their damndest and we're just hurting bad...That doesn't excuse booing...but it's frustration on a mass scale.
I don't want to try and take anything away from these kids or the Coaches here. That was the most hellacious comeback win vs Florida ever. I don't care what any record book says. Going forward though, ...we got very lucky we woke up at the same time Florida sort of went in the tank. And if that dynamic isn't more toward "luck", then you must be able to tell me the odds of a team coming back from down 21 points vs a top 25 team, riding an 11year losing streak mentally, and basically imploding on national tv is more than 10%. Save your breath because in that multiplier/equation, the 11 year streak odds = 1%
All this back and forth between folks on this board...is fine. Booing kids, our own players is not the right thing to do ever...even though I know why these folks do it and I don't think they're really booing the players as much as the coaches. Luck was on our side tonight. Great win.
Honest question....do you want to go down 21-0 to Bama...and rely on them to implode? Just asking.
