The fans for the most part still buy tickets without much dropoff in ticket sales and still donate. Sure, there are dips like in Dooley's last year but it's never enough for the administration to really panic and say to themselves, we have to get a sure thing in here to get us back to a championship level. So instead, we make B level hires and just hope it works out. (Kiffin-still think this was a decent hire, Dooley, and Butch). I'd love to see breakdown of costs of what we have paid for our head coaches per year including the buyouts and what Bama has paid since Saban arrived. With all of the buyouts, it's probably somewhat close or in the range that it would be a no brainer to pay that kind of money for a Saban considering the total budget and impact on revenue.
