I understand this will be revealing my identity (gasp!) but I'm too proud of this project, so here we go.

Yesterday I launched a fundraising campaign for the second version of my photobook, We Will Not Fade Away. And since we like sports, and some of us basketball ;), I couldn't think of a better place to introduce it. Here is the campaign: We Will Not Fade Away campaign

So for the past six years I have been traveling and searching for basketball goals that each tell their own small story in some way, but relate back to the uniqueness of this all-encompassing activity. In my opinion, basketball is one of the few common languages and unifiers we have in today’s divided world. It's accessible for almost every walk of life, regardless of socioeconomic circumstances.

The culmination of these efforts will be a nice big colorful photobook.

My favorite part about the project is that I’m taking the remainder of all funds and revenue (50%) and using them to lead a new creation for Project Backboard. There is more on Project Backboard in the campaign details but a quick overview is that Dan’s team turns public basketball courts into beautiful works of art for the surrounding community.

Elias Stein is going to lead the design of this second edition. And like everything he does, it’ll look awesome.

This book is ultimately a dedication to my late basketball coach, Jeff Taylor. Coach Taylor was my coach at Tullahoma High School when I played there, but a few years ago he was dealt the unfortunate fate of cancer. He lost the battle at the age of 42, leaving behind his wife and kids, and several decades of basketball mentorship and success.

Some of you might have come in contact with Coach Taylor over the years, whether it be direct competition or other basketball circles, but he had the biggest impact on not only my love for sports, but love for making a commitment to a cause and the people around it. I wrote more about his impact and his death here: http://crabtreeiii.com/coach-taylor-who-floats/

There are several ways to donate, some without even buying the book:
- Basic pledges of $15 or more to get your name in the book
- The Book
- The Book + photoprints + bonus material

Also we are finalizing which court will we revamp (it'll either be in California or Tennessee). So if anyone in the Nashville, Chattanooga, or Knoxville areas have an idea of a court that could use a major upgrade for the community, please DM me so I can talk with the team. This group has also done a project for Memphis in the past, if anyone has seen this in the city.

Thanks GQ. And let's rock the universe with another Rick Barnes' led team this year.
