Team 119
1) If Boulware is working his way up into the conversation to be in the Top 7-8, IYO is it a function of adding another viable option to the rotation or is someone slipping down? Because to this point, despite him losing his stripe and some other positive vibes, I've viewed him as more of the 11th guy (Top 10 being Kerbyson/Robertson/Crowder/Kendrick/Jones/Thomas/Mosley/Hall/Richmond/Wiesman) and possibly a redshirt.
So I guess my question is, do you feel like we have a legit 11-man travel squad (albeit young, as 5 would be true or RS frosh) or has someone else just underperformed? I get the sense it's more the former, even if Wiesman isn't considered "any sort of long-term answer as a starter up front," but I could just be hoping.
2) Heard anything about Bynum's reaction to getting dropped out of the starter conversation? I assume he's taken it well due to his character, but would be interested to hear. Similarly, do you think Bates is happy about the move back to OLB?
3) I know they love their 5-man DT rotation of DOB/Williams/Vickers/Shy/McKenzie, but is Picou making a move to get some PT? Do you think they'd prefer to have a 6th, even one who only gets a few snaps per game, or would they prefer to RS him?
4) Any further feel on how Jakob/Neiko/Eli Wolf have progressed at TE? Not a War Room topic, I know
Recruiting
1) DT: Do you think they would take either Christmas or Dunlap right now if they wanted in? They both seem highly interested. What about both...would they wait on Derrick Brown or still go after him too? Are Gooden/Mykelle McDaniel/Bryce Morais still realistic targets here? I saw that Gooden took an UV to Memphis, which makes me wonder if his grades are still going to be a huge issue (because that place is a sh!thole).
2) DE: I really like Roach, but would it be fair to say that nothing he does until NSD is meaningful until LSU 100% shuts the door? How serious do you think Bryson Young is about leaving the Left Coast (obviously taking an OV is a good sign)?
3) OL: Do you think there's a chance Dickerson leaves us out of his Top 6 tonight? Do we still have some momentum with Price? Similarly to Roach though, do you get the sense he's going to wait on UGA to the end? Are Jackson and Shaffer guys who have interest in UT and would like an offer in order to get serious, or are they just names at this point? If the staff could get two more OL, especially at least one of Price/Tatum/Simpson, they'd take two, right? What about three?
4) CB: How serious is any mutual interest between UT and the two JUCO CBs? Are either of them EEs? Same question for Jordan Parker and Troy Warner as for Bryson Young (obviously Parker has set an OV and Warner has not yet).
5) Broader discussion: As high as expectations are coming into this season, I think it's clear that the 2016 roster will be even better than this year - senior stud QB, overall more talented with the addition of another great class, more experienced, deeper, and with another year in the CBJ system. And we've already got 5 EEs on the commit list, 4 of which (Osborne, Johnson, George, Stewart) are at positions where they can potentially step in and contribute immediately. And then you've got Joejuan Williams, Kyle Davis and Freddie Swain who are prime targets and also EEs.
You mentioned that now that the staff has been with the team for the full camp they have a good feel for where we are, and therefore what needs we are going to have moving forward. Given the potential for next season, do you think the staff might look for more JUCO help in order to shore up any spots that they think might keep us from seriously contending for a playoff spot next year? Thinking OL, DL (along with Johnson), and Secondary (noted the two new JUCO CBs getting interest) specifically.
Thanks as always @P_Fortenberry @Brent_Hubbs
