but he's not beyond some fair criticism....
Not going to criticize exact individual substitutions (we don't know everything and he can't say to them that you have to go all out...all the time in practice and then still play them a lot in games...that is BAD coaching/teaching)
But he simply is not a great in-game coach.....he gets too emotional picking apart mistakes (usually defensive mistakes)...then he substitutes out of anger rather than out of game strategy
Watch him....someone makes a mistake and you see fire in his eyes and he immediately is looking down the bench and getting someone else in....he almost looks like he's going crazy......the player might be on a hot streak offensively....but if he makes a defensive mistake.....he's coming out....no matter if the player substituting for him is a lesser player...this results in some very unbalanced lineups on the floor......
And we don't see him in practice....but in games he only bites their heads off for mistakes....you never see him congratulating someone for something good...........(got no issue in chewing ass at times...but I think you have to dish out some praise too)..........that would either become miserable...or you would soon just tune him out......don't see how that works out well in the long run
Also...almost never uses his timeouts to substitute offense/defense situations when needed.....just lets it go........
