@Ben_McKee
I assume the recruiting pitch from the staff to Reggie is that he would have a real chance of going Top 5-10 in the draft next year which is life changing money vs him being taken possibly in the 2nd or 3rd round which is good money but after taxes it is certainly not life changing money.
Lets say he is playing in Knoxville next year.
What are you hearing is his role? The staff got his commitment so I am curious what they told him. Because he could have committed to any school in the country.
1) Obviously hitting full time- I would assume DH as they will want to do right by Blake Burke IMO and showcase him at 1st base.
2) Pitching- full time closer? Or will the staff open the competition for the starting spots and let the best man win?
BONUS
3) Who was the commitment Tony V was talking about that happened yesterday? If you can't say maybe a hint at the position he plays?
*my thoughts*
- Dollander is the best pitcher in the country. I think the weight room will be GOOD to him this offseason. Still just a kid physically.
- Burns is the most purely talented pitcher in the country and what he did as a freshman just doesn't happen in the SEC.
- Beam will be tremendously improved post TJ and actually being able to focus on pitching. I also see Beam's velo taking off as that kid is a total stud athlete and will be living in the weight room for the next 6 months. What he also did as a freshman (who hadn't pitched in 2 years) just doesn't happen in the SEC.
Pretty wild to possibly add Crawford to that mix.
