Santiago got rung up on a pitch he didn't come close to going around on by the home plate umpire. For the life of me, I can't understand why a home plate umpire makes a call on any check swing and then why a batter can't appeal to a base umpire like the catcher can. That call burns me up as a former pitcher, no less.
