1. Do you think that Larry Scott was hired a year ago with the understanding/plan that he would be the OC after a year on staff? Was his later season increased input in offense part of the plan to promote him to play caller for next year?
I always wondered why he was so willing to come to the Vols as a position coach rather than stay as part of Richt's staff where he had good standing.
We heard from Justin Fields that he pretty much knew that DeBord was gone and it seemed like media was trying to deal with the fact that they knew he was gone, but that he was mixed on whether to keep coaching or not (his defensive interview about how productive his offense had been going into bowl game, seemed like someone that wanted to still coach).
2. Was Walt Wells hired as a quality coach to be the OL coach in waiting? It seems that way, somewhat. Who will come into play either as 10th coach or behind the scenes guy to help him? Last year he, Mahoney and Debord all worked with the OL. Doing all 3 guys jobs will be tough.
3. I think Butch has made some really strong hires and hires that have a real eye towards improved recruiting and a lot of HC experience on his staff to help guide him. Not really a question.
