In a season when the team has been descimated by injuries to sever key players, practices where large numbers of players either cannot participate or wear the green jersey, why does Butch Jones leave his starters in the game where they have a 27 pt. lead with 4mns to play?

Granted we gave up a couple of late game scores and maybe Butch has such little confidence in the D he feared losing the game but it appeared to me the reason they gave up those scores is the players were not playing with maximum effort. If thats the case then its really scary cause thats when you usually get injured!

Could the problem be that in late game situations with huge leads that the starters themselves don't want to be in the game and without openly questoning the coaching decision simply go thru the motions?

Is the problem the back ups haven't been developed to the point to be able to effectively compete even in a clean up type of situation?

Seems to me Butch is missing a great opportunity in these rare situations to make a positive impression on his entire team! Back ups go in Starters get to rest and don't risk further injury and just as importantly the best way to improve team morale is let the play!! Might even be more effective than chest bumps and high fives!

In the last 4 mns of the game Malik Foreman and Corey Vereen both went down with injury. Don't think either was serious but why even have them in the game?

Constructive ideas please.
