Last night in the Monday chat I asked a few questions about Butch (Thanks for answering). @Brent_Hubbs asked me to fire away, so here are some questions I've had for a few months now:
1. I had heard that the players were the ones who made the call on Lawson, what inclined Butch to think this was a good idea? Was it in response to workouts being "too tough" on the players?
2. How much had Butch alienated the AD/SID in general in terms of seeking more "Self gratification" in terms of marketing as opposed to the team?
3. Have any of your sources ever given you an explanation for the "Fell on a helmet" incident? It seems common knowledge that punches were thrown, but what was the reasoning for lying about it?
4. Was Butch just completely different in 2017? In terms of his attitude towards interaction with the media and fans?
5. At any point during the 2017 season did Butch take over playcalling duties on offense that you are aware of?
6. After the Jalen Hurd saga played out how it did, there were tons of people who claim to be "insiders" saying the last straw between Butch and Hurd was JH telling CBJ to "Win this _)___ game without me" against USCe, can you speak on this?
7. Did John Currie ever seem to think he was going to try to roll him out there for 2018? I know you had mentioned it's hard to fire a coach if they win out, but in reality it seemed like a PR disaster had things worked out that way. Do you have any insight as to his line of thinking?
8. There were lots of rumors of Butch getting aggressive with his coaching staff (not necessarily physically), were there any reports of this?
9. Did Butch and Shoop really have a massive falling-out mid-season?
