If you watch the kid's film, he is a beast. He plays mean and aggressive every single snap. His technique isn't bad either, though admittedly it could use some polish. He has tremendous size and I expect a college S&C program to do wonders for him.
We heard how he was a diamond in the rough find and that he would likely blow up somewhat. I still do think it was a fantastic ID by this staff and a kid that is going to be a legit mauler here at guard or center 2-3 years down the road.
Question for you gents on the kid is, why do you think he didn't "blow up" per se? His offer list is much the same as it was around the time we got on him, with some BIG offers sprinkled in. Mizzou is the only other SEC team I am aware of offering him.
Was it because we got him to commit so early? Technique issues? Weight issues? Would be curious to hear your thoughts and then your projection for how you see the kid's first few years in the program going and long term impact. Thanks!
