Let me start by saying that it was great picking up commits from Mays and Lawrence. Yet it seems that some of the other kids that like TN are reluctant to jump in the boat right now. I know all of them are being heavily recruited by other schools that have had more on field success lately.
1. Are most of them holding off to see if TN improves on the field this year or do they know they have a spot in this class at TN and are just waiting to see what else may come along?
2. Are Ojulari and Grimes just waiting for Georgia and Bama offers? OLB seems to be a major need in this class.
3. Are you surprised at all the rumors of KY and Rybka? How real is that? It would be a real blow if they come instate and steal a guy TN really wants at a position of need.
4. Jimbo seems to be setting up shop in TN right now and looks like A&M could make it hard for TN to land Omari Thomas and Morris along with King. I know King is 50/50 right now. Any idea on Thomas and Morris?
5. K. Lawrence seemed to have performed well lately. Do u think he could possibly be bumped to a 5 star? Looks like a special kid with a lot of range. Who’s game would you compare him to?
6. This is a much tougher job than it was in the 90s with UGA, Bama, Clemson all at the top of the college football world right now. But what makes it even tougher are schools like USC jr, KY, Vandy having the success they are having now. With that being said how long do you think this rebuild is truly going to take? Can TN really get back to the elite of college football or is this programs ceiling likely 9-3, 10-2 year after year once they rebuild the roster?
I have to admit I took for granted the success of the 90s and thought it would always be that way. I’ll be 37 next weekend and like most Vol fans I’m starving to see TN have success on the football field again at a consistent level.
I know that was a lot of questions just wonder how you guys see things when you follow the program on a daily basis. Thanks
