@Brent_Hubbs @P_Fortenberry @Rob Lewis @Austin_Price
1) Is Riley Locklear the only committed early enrollee? As far as targets, Trey Smith and Lamont Wade are it? I think a couple guys farther down the board are EEs, but that would have to come together quickly. Small group in any event.
2) Any chance any of these guys are healthy enough to go through spring practice: Austin Smith, Khalil McKenzie, Quarte Sapp, Evan Berry, Chance Hall? Assuming Shy is no chance, and Jack Jones will be good to go.
3) Do you think the decision about whether to move Tyler Byrd to CB has already been made? Or is it more a matter of something they would plan to try in Spring Practice to see if it takes and go from there. If Malone leaves for the NFL, WR could look pretty thin depending on how we finish the 2017 class.
4) Do you think they split reps at QB evenly between Dormady, Guarantano and Jones all the way through Spring Practice? Seems like Butch has an incentive to not narrow things to try and keep Sheriron around. If Sheriron were to leave and we don't sign a QB in 2017, that's pretty thin, especially for an offense where the QB runs.
5) Fair to assume Kongbo has found a home at DT, and Phillips is a DE who may slide inside on passing downs?
6) With Barnett and Vereen gone, where do you get pass rush out of this DE group? Darrell Taylor has to be part of the solution given his ability, right?
7) Thoughts on where Austin Smith and Blakely play (Sam/Will/DE)? LB looks awfully thin without them.
8) Is Kirkland at WLB a legit option or always destined to be a "break glass in case of emergency" deal? The dream would be Daniel Bituli really comes on over the spring/summer and you're looking for a way to get him on the field.
9) Any reason to hope Gavin Bryant and Dillon Bates can contribute anything beyond special teams?
10) Any reason to think the redshirt year will result in DJ Henderson providing some value at corner? Or is there just no chance that is anything but a complete whiff on the evaluation?
11) At corner, describe your level of confidence that Moseley/Martin (if he stays)/Buchanan/Osborne can be coached up to be solid next year? I'm assuming you at least need Osborne to be an option on the outside in addition to backing up Gaulden at Nickel. If you don't think they can be coached up, then it's an athleticism problem? Not turning to look for the ball sure seems like coaching to me. And Buchanan and Osborne were true freshmen this year to be fair.
12) At safety, is it even reasonable to assume we can get more athletic back there next year beyond getting Nigel Warrior on the field? Particularly given the complexity of the defense and how Nigel struggled, it's hard to believe a freshman can come in and make a meaningful difference in 2017.
Thanks, fellas.
