My question is, how many of our players were hurt in high school but appeared to be recovering from their injuries so we signed them? I don't have the numbers but I suspect we have been signing recruits with injuries that have returned while playing or practicing for the Vols. Maybe Bama does not have to sign those with "risky" potential problems. JRM had a shoulder problem in HS. Phillips did as well. My memory fails but I seem to recall we take one or two or more per year that have suffered significant injuries in HS. I am sure Brent and staff could list them quickly. As concussion understanding and treatment continues to advance, should we be particularly cautious regarding recruits with concussions?
