Our defense looked poor from the first snap against Appy St. Then, our slow start has been compounded by injuries. I haven't seen much discussion about the impact of the learning curve for our players? Is the scheme pretty different from Jancek's? Do you think "learning curve" is one of the explanations for our poor defensive performance? Or are injuries 100% to blame for our poor performance? Full list of possible explanations:
- Injuries
- Learning curve
- Shoop's blitzes and stunts have created opportunities for opponents
- Bad coaching by the staff Shoop inherited (especially the secondary)
- We're just not that talented
- The offenses we've played against are just THAT GOOD
- Overall poor team morale has effected our defensive performance
- Lack of pre-season contact has hurt tackling and fundamentals
I'd be interested to see your ranking of the explanations (and others I might have missed)
