Is everyone's hesitation to give UT much chance at signing them both due to what those two kids are saying (i.e., "I won't go there if he does") or just that it's difficult to sign two elite RBs in one class? I ask because obviously both of them know the opportunity here, and really when you break it down on each of them it seems like we are the most logical choice FOR them and if you were picking where they are going to end up INDIVIDUALLY:
Chandler - he's instate and likes the focus on instate kids. The instate text message group. He's been on campus a ton, and the recent visit with the family was a huge success. And when you talk about the other contenders, none of them other than UGA have the same opportunity we offer in terms of stepping in and playing a lot immediately. Ole Miss doesn't run the ball much or well. I don't see him going out to SC. Duke? Come on. OSU is always tough, but neither Ty nor Cam seem like OSU kind of guys. AU has signed a bunch of backs, just got another 4-star 2016 kid, and Gus is getting fired after this season anyway.
And back to UGA (and this goes for Akers, too) - they are about to pick up Toneil Carter and are big players for D'Andre Swift, who is likely to make a decision before either Chandler or Akers.
At the same time, it sounds like we have the best staff relationship with Akers among all of his contenders (Coach G!) and he's been on campus a ton including a very successful family trip for OC Day and clearly likes it here. Similar group as Chandler detailed above - I know that FSU is trying to get in the mix, but they already have a 4-star commit and are the presumed leaders for Laborn (and also in the mix for Barrett).
Just wanted to get my thoughts on paper on these two and get your thoughts. Thanks for your input.
