Podcost today reiterated Brent's War Room recruiting of our final 3 and some of Pruitt's contingencies if the top 3 doesn't go as planned.
1. OL Darnell Wright 5-Star prediction VOLS 100%
2. LB Henry To'oto'o 4-Star very "iffy" due to Bama IMO 50-50%
3. LB Chris Russell 3-Star Feel our chances are good 65-70%
4. DB Anthony Harris 4-Star All is quiet, Harris hasn't visited and is a possible Blueshirt per @DylanVol .
I agree with Austin that OL Darnell Wright is ALL VOL. I can't imagine Wright not being a VOL, plus he's not taking additional visits to other programs.
Next is West Coast LB Henry To'oto'o who's been coached/encouraged by VFL Kevin Simon to give TENNESSEE strong consideration. It's been stated that Simon has done a good job selling TENNESSEE to To'oto'o. W.Coast schools Washington and Oregon are pushing for a visit, but Bama's getting one and that's a concern.
The other LB Chris Russell has been rumored to a Ark lean and exVol DC John Chavis has been recruiting him. I know we offered Russell after Arkansas, I also recall Chavis' reluctance to recruit dating back to when he was coaching Defense in Knoxville.
I've discussed our chances or landing Russell with @DylanVol . He believes TENNESSEE is in great shape with Russell because:
-His Parents are VOL fans
-Russell lives in a pro-TENNESSEE town...Dyersburg, TN
-Vol staff is recruiting Russell very hard making him a priority in this class
-VOLS get Russell's final OV which could be huge!
When talking to DylanVol, I mentioned Pruitt's lack of desire to back count any prospects and unwillingness to Blueshirt. But Dylan had mentioned weeks ago he thought Harris was a good Blueshirt candidate.
Lastly, if we strike out on our top picks, there's Auburn commit 5-Star WR George Pickens, but he has academic concerns and, IMO will go JUCO, then there's Minnesota commit 3-Star DL Kristin Williams who didn't sign in the Early Signing Period and is still a possibility. Then there's USCjr commit 4-Star DL Jahkeem Green. He does have some academic work to do per the War Room, but he's a huge need. With his position coach, Lance Thompson, leaving Carolina, the door is open for Pruitt to make a steal.
Lastly, there's 3-Star(previous 4-Star) DL LeDarrius Cox who's still committed and has stated he plans to sign with TENNESSEE. I don't feel confident about that based on what we've heard.
It was fun posting this. Thanks to the board for tolerating me.
