I am not sure how some fans can be so blinded by ignorance, that it spews out in their post on this board. It is fans that act like Fulmer was the greatest coach ever, when in reality he went as Coach Cutcliffe went!!!! Please see the bullet points listed below.

1. Fulmer should have never been the head coach!!! He and other completely railroaded UT great Johnny Majors!!
2. Fulmer inherited a team coming off back to back SEC Championships in 89' and 90'. The 91' season was a good one including " The Miracle at South Bend"
3. Fulmer is named Interim HC following Majors heart attack, and UT starts 5-0. Oh BTW this was Health Shuler's first year at starting QB plus we were loaded with talent!!
4. Fulmer snakes Majors and inherits an absolute gold mine, much like present time Alabama.
5. Fulmer enjoyed an unbelievably stacked team and Shuler's junior year was a great year.
6. 1994 was a below average years but PM got settled in as the starter and by the end of the year you could see it coming. Oh BTW, Cut was given 100% credit for signing and developing Manning not Fulmer.
7. 94-97 were excellent years but by all account underachieving due to the talent gap we had versus everyone else.
8. 98 National Champions. We won the SEC and beat a no talent MS ST in the SEC Championship. We beat FL ST who had their 3rd string quarterback starting. Truth being told they beat us otherwise, but nonetheless we won a title. Cut leaves for OM!
9. 99' Underachieved
00' Underachieved
01' Lost to an inferior LSU team in the SEC Championship
02'-06' Underachieved with a 5-7 season in 05 and/or 06. Recruiting began to slip rapidly during this time period.
07' Cut comes back and we go 10-3 but lose to LSU in the SEC Championship. We sign the No.1 class in the country that had more busts than Kiffins class. Cut leaves for Duke
10. Fulmer fails to win without Cut for the second time and goes 5-7. He also had the no. 35 ranked recruiting class that was much worse than that, after it was all said and done!!

So why was it so bad when Dooley got here two years later?

Fulmer's recruiting classes his last four years;
2004 - 11th had a few really good players but quite a few on the list never put on a uniform
2005 - 4th Same story different verse. Great ranking but over half of the class never played a down
2006 - 23rd not a horrible ranking, but the lone 5 star was Walter Fisher. I bet everyone knows who that is.
2007- 3rd this class is the class that was the bust class heard around the world!! Including 5 5stars and 9 4 stars. Out of the 14 only 6 played any meaning football for UT really 5 bc Ben Martin did not do anything until his Senior year.
2008- 35th This class was garbage from top to bottom besides a player or two. Literally 1 or 2
