There are big differences between Butch and Phillip. Butch is young, energetic, and certainly not complacent. Phillip had gotten older, probably a little tired, and after such great success a little complacent. But there is one particular similarity that gives me a little pause. Fullmer was loyal to a fault with his staff and was set on keeping the same old group at almost any cost. Continuity and knowing the guys you bring in has its merits, but if your universe is too amall you are really limiting your options and what you can do. For the record I don't think Butch will limit himself and I have no idea who his final choice will be. I don't think Debord is anywhere close to being a given and I also wouldn't write him off at all if he is the pick. But for me the 1 potental red flag I see in Butch is what looks like a predisposition to want to work in a pretty small area if possible. That being said I think Butch is inovative and on the cutting edge and in the end will do what it takes to succeed.
