You all are acting like this is the Georgia State loss all over again. We were slightly above average all year long. Every decent team either gave us trouble or just flat out beat us. You should have known this was going to be a tight game.
Tonight meant nothing. This game played out like all the rest of them, and we just happened to come out on the losing side of a shoot out. So what? That is who we are right now.
Our problem? We hardly have possession of the ball at all because we score so quickly, and our defense isn't good enough to get off the field, so they get worse and worse as the game goes on. That's what we are starting with in 2022. We just have to improve our defense a little, and it will make a huge difference. It probably won't happen next year. We'll probably be exactly the same as we were this year. But eventually Heupel will get the roster rebuilt and that defense will make just enough improvement that we'll turn the corner.
