The day I met my future wife, I had a TN hat on, first thing she ever said to me is, Pat Summit is an amazing coach and truly and inspirational leader.
My wife was with Victoria Secret, Pat Summit attended their annual conference, and she says to this day they have never had anyone like her in the 14 years speak, and they bring in some very big names and leaders each year.
She said when she spoke people listened, she had full command over the 1500 people in the room, she said she went on for two hours, no one spoke a word, no one got up to go to the bathroom, she said you could her a pin drop in the room, my wife said she got to meet her afterwards, she asked her my wife's name, asked her where she was from and she said it was amazing how such a powerful speaker could be so genuine to some one.
My wife said she told Pat you have inspired me, and she said she turned back to my wife and said her name, take that inspiration and continue learning and being the best you possibly can be, and don't ever let anyone tell you, you can't, stay positive, and I hope to see you running VSS one day.
My wife said it was that two hours and that 2 minutes of interaction with Pat that has always stayed with her....
