They don't seem to have followed standard procedure on the front end to uphold Pearsons' indefinite suspension (appeal approved and then rejected with no explanation as to why). Now that the DA has said they will not pursue charges, it would appear that UT may have approached this poorly, and inconsistently with how they treated other students and student athletes (see AJ and Williams). There would seem to be some liability here, but I am not an attorney.
