1. Their defensive front 7 looked big and athletic. Akron's offense looked rather putrid, but nonetheless their defense looks like it will be solid in this department.

Akron's throw game was so bad you couldn't tell if their secondary can play or not...

2. They did not run the ball well at all. They had several negative yardage plays as well. Perine and Mixon look to have the tools but the production wasn't their in week 1.

3. I like their talent at WR. Sheppard, Neal, and Westbrook are a nice trio of WRs. Mixon also catches the ball well.

4. Mayfield can run a little bit. However, he holds onto the ball more that BGs QB. OUs offense wants quick hitters in the passing game but there were times Mayfield held the ball and it did not end well. If we can force him to hold the ball from time to time, our DL will eat him up.

Mayfield has a nice arm but wasn't blown away by him at all. He seems like a gamer who will be tough to defend when things are clicking but he could be a disaster for OU if he gets rattled.

5. Their offense did not execute very well through the first 30 minutes of play. They had a whopping 10 points with about 5 min to go in the half.

All in all, I feel better about this match up after watching them play. We definitely can win this one.
