Isn't the reason he left Ole Miss eerily similar to Barnes at Texas? Refusing to gut staff?
We could do a helluva lot worse than hire Rick Barnes. Guy has won everywhere he's been. Anyone that thinks he wouldn't be a good hire are crazy. Everyone says you have to have a track record, this guy does.
There may be a better hire, but most of the hirable guys are higher risk, with MAYBE potential a higher reward.
When I first heard the possibility, I had mixed emotions. But the guy would be a good hire. Jmo.
