Unbelievable win by a team that absolutely refuses to quit. Great individual performances yesterday. But my inescapable thought this morning is we are a team that is playing poorly overall, way under our capabilities.
We have struggled to beat five teams, none of which are all that good in my opinion. Admittedly we have had terrible injuries on defense, but we should be still tackling better than we are, defending the pass better than we are. Offensively, we don't seem to be able to get into a rhythm that gets a defense on its heels and we are still plagued by less than stellar offensive line play. This is all magnified by terrible starts on both sides of the ball where we just don't look ready to play in the first half.
I am not meaning to be a critic, just exasperated by the way we are playing. Good teams take charge of lesser opponents and we are not. Yesterday is the second time this year where we haven't lead until very late in the game. I can't tell yet if we are good or just winning with smoke and mirrors. At least we are winning and I'll absolutely take it, but I am concerned about the results when we do play good teams in the next two weeks.
