Ya know, Bates was probably the recruit I was most excited about in the first couple years. WTF has happened? All I ever see is mild speculation. Why is nobody talking about him, his lack of development, involvement, etc?
He truly seemed like theee "can't miss" prospect out of that bunch to me. Smart, huuuuge upside (was only 17 when he came to UT), off-the-charts athletic ability, genes, Vol legacy, prototypical size (minus needing a few pounds)... WTF has gone wrong? It's to the point that Volquesters are posting next year's depth chart and STILL not including him.
Does anyone have any REAL insight about this kid and what has happened?
