He said on BOS that our new "winning formula" needs to be as follows...

1. Kicking game has to be GREAT. Mathews states we have the potential to be great in the kicking game so this is not an unachievable goal. Winning field position is huge for both the offense and defense.

2. Offense has to protect the defense. Turnovers and time of possession are paramount to keeping our defense in good situations.

3. Defense has to win with the front 4. We have average talent at LB and CB because the injuries. Safeties are good, not great. We aren't good enough on the back end to send much pressure and defend the pass. We aren't good enough at LB to make plays in the run game if the DL isn't winning the LOS.

All of these things are certainly attainable goals.
