Assuming 20,000 season ticket holders go away.

Assuming each lost season ticket represents $2,000 in direct revenue (ticket costs plus donations).

Assuming each lost season ticket represents $500 in indirect revenue (concessions, parking, merchandise.

The annual impact will be $50,000,000.

This does not take into account the impact to the local economy from less visitors (hotels, restaurants, tax collections). Nor does it take into account the lost prestige for the university as a whole which will impact non-athletic donations and even enrollment.

Remarkably, the cost of cleaning house - including Fulmer - pales in comparison to maintaining the status quo another year.

I firmly believe a 20,000 season ticket decline is likely unless something changes.

Also, this is the exact decision Memphis made in replacing Tubby Smith with Penny Hardaway. Their attendance had plummeted and the continuing loss of revenue far outweighed the cost of firing Smith and hiring Hardaway.
