posted on here earlier this week in regards to the foolishness of firing Miles so early in the season. Will see how that plays out over time, but as for the first 6 days we have Charlie Strong continuing to look like sh-t and Ed Orgeron completely re-energizing the program.
LSU probably comes out this week and F's Florida up (good for us). Then they for sure go beat Southern Miss. If they can go 2 for The next 3 after that then he is going to remain a very popular man down there, and LSU can finish second in the West. They don't have to hire Orgeron, but you can't just totally discard him after something like that either.
Meanwhile, Texas is crappy. The Notre Dame win has basically turned into a non event, and Texas has both Oklahoma and Baylor coming up in October. Probably 3-4 at that point. Is Tom Herman seriously talking to anyone at LSU this fall with that uncertainty hanging over the Texas program? Strong loses one other game and he is probably gone. Must finish 8-4 at worst seeing how Texas has Herman there right in their laps... Last thing Strong needed this year was for Herman to continue the hype.
Jimbo Fisher has been exposed somewhat. Been mailing it in for the last 24 months... LSU might not be so eager to go there now... Petrino has said " no way" Briles is apparently not under consideration.
Miles had to go, but it could have waited until after the Bama game or even on into November. Zero advantage to rushing it. It has been mentioned on sports radio here in Atl that the boosters down there have yet to deliver the funds to the AD for Miles's buyout. Not that they disagreed w getting rid of him, but a lot of them haven't rushed to step up to the plate so far. Gonna take some hand holding...School can't start throwing huge numbers around for the next salary and someone's buyout until the Miles bill has been paid.
