Please stop and think about it for a minute. As a coach, I feel it is part of my job to help young men grow and develop into better people, productive citizens and caring fathers. The coaches at UT feel the same way because I was in a discussion with a couple of them (Coach G and DeBord) at a clinic on this very subject. If the situation went south after the UGA game and Hurd quit and then wanted back, it is part of the duty to help the young man through the rough time. What good would it have done for Hurd, CBJ, or the program to come out and air this dirty laundry? CBJ was protecting one of his players while trying to help him. As it turned out, the situation came back to bite UT in the backside. I have had it happen to me several times, but you can't let that stop you from trying to help the next kid. Sometimes players need football worse than football needs them. Jalen may find this out the hard way.
