Sharing: I remember us kicking the ever living sh--- out of Alabama for the first time in a long time in 95... watching that Manning to Kent connection on one of the very first plays from the line of scrimmage, and never looking back. Then watching Leonard Little decleat their quarterback a few times, then Jay Graham just running all over the field.
It sucks right now. I hear you.
But as I was being escorted out of that big stinking piece of sh** Mercedes Benz stadium by an Alabama state trooper, after having thrown my drink all over several folks sitting in the distinguished AL athletic alumni section (I wondered why everyone had crimson blazers on) , I felt a warm feeling inside. As I watched several of their fans curse and scream at me, throwing sh** at me, and the Trooper telling me to move it or face being arrested, I remember reaching in my jacket and pulling out two cigars and waving them to everyone as I smiled and was escorted out, and those fools all starting to lose their minds. I remember one old lady flipping me off and screaming "F**** YOU!! GET OUTTA HERE!" I will remember that feeling of utter peache/schadenfreude/redemption on my death bed.
Forced out of the stadium by the Trooper,. we paid a stadium attendant and jumped the fence getting back into the game and I smoked another cigar with an 82 year old alum who was there with his wife, helping him stand. He shared these nice cubans with us, as we tried to keep folks from jumping all over him-- keeping the crowd back as much as we could, while his wife literally helped him stand. He didnt care one bit.
His wife said "hes been saving these for 20 years!" We sang Rocky Top over and over until those a***holes kicked us out and then went downtown/five points and raised hell til about 4am.
