So I recently moved to Louisville from Houston. When I was working in TX, I brought my lunch pretty much every day. My wife and I are very frugal and I just don't go out for lunch often at all.
Anyways, my go to was always putting black beans, fajita chicken, cheese, salsa and avocado in a Tupperware and heating it up. Eat it with both a fork and using tortilla chips and you've got a dynamite lunch at low cost that's pretty damn healthy.
Problem is that we shopped at a grocery chain called HEB in TX, and they had cooked and frozen chicken (and beef!) fajita strips that were good. Now that basically Kroger is our realistic go-to option, I was there the other day and I saw nothing like this in the frozen section. I'm already coming to grips with the fact that fresh avocados aren't going to be as prevalent in this region of the country, but I can't take 2 of those items out of my lunch.
So two questions:
1. Anyone know if there is something like this at Kroger I didn't see.
2. What are some go to healthy lunches that the GQ brings into work on a daily basis?
