Living here in Alabama and have a loose connection to coaching staff at Auburn and the SEC Commissioner. Shared with me from a call that Greg Sankey (he goes to my church and his daughter is also connected with mine) had with SEC AD's and coaches regarding SEC Football this fall. This most recent info came through one of the Auburn coaches that shared some of what they told their players yesterday in a team meeting.

Told players that Sankey said that SEC football games will be played this fall on TV. Might be in front of no crowds, but the schools and conference needed to play TV games with the revenue that is tied to them. If not all sports would have to go away with the exception of Basketball, Baseball and Softball (and obviously football but I was told that was kinda assumed in convo as it came in the conversation about no football happening.) Told that it was said that schools could simply not keep any of the other sports and make anything budget wise work. Non-conference games are somewhat unknown as they waited to see what some other conferences did (as we are now seeing.)

We are living in quickly changing realities, but told at least for now every intention is to keep SEC TV revenue in place. I prefer to be at games in person, but will take what we can get right now.

Anyone else heard similar from any connections?
