What's up guys this is Mike and I run the Rutgers247 site - thanks for all the bashing. Regardless, I talked to Ryan and said I'd pass by this AM to shed light on what I could. Before I share let me just clear up the crystal ball issue - I went to change mine to flip to Florida but then was told to hold off so when I attempted to flip it to foggy, it started showing up as a Virginia prediction. I have no idea what it says now, but here's what I was able to find out, which I also posted to my board.

So last night, news began to break about Jarrett Guarantano's commitment status with Tennessee. So far, here's what we know: Tennessee received a commitment from the number one quarterback in the class of 2017 yesterday, Guarantano removed all mentions in text of being a Tennessee commit from his Twitter account (aside from his header photo), and he began following a number of Florida coaches on Twitter yesterday.

Now, for what I was able to find out since last night. First, I traded emails with someone very well connected to the situation and he confirmed that there indeed has been contact between JG and the Florida coaching staff. Also, I heard from a different source that Jarrett is upset with UT accepting Hunter Johnson's commitment. As for the whole Twitter thing, how long have I been saying you can't predict everything based on a kids' actions on Twitter?

Here's where things get complicated - Bergen Catholic's season is set to begin in less than two weeks and HC Nunzio Campanile is hyper-focused on this season and it's unlikely he will let the Jarrett Guarantano recruiting circus begin again, if Jarrett is indeed considering other options. Also, his actions on Twitter may just be a knee-jerk reaction out of frustration to Johnson's commitment. Either way, I don't know that this story has a quick resolution. JG may say all the right things and keep in contact with Florida ( or whoever else) on the DL until after Bergen's season comes to an end, then take some officials or he could very well open things up tomorrow for all we know. At the same time, he could cool down and reaffirm his commitment status to UT, which also wouldn't surprise me. Additionally, I've heard that there are other schools, such as Auburn, trying to get involved. Not that this story has much bearing on Rutgers as they already have their QB in Anthony Russo, but it's certainly something worth monitoring for NJ HS fans.

So in speaking with 3 people since last night, that's what I've been told. As I learn more, I'll be happy to share it.
