I like the underdog as much as the next guy but the media hype that goes with some of these flash in the pan success stories is beyond ridiculous. There literally was discussion about WMU being a dark horse playoff candidate. For them to be ranked 15th with that piss poor schedule they played...Put Western Michigan in the SEC East or West and I think they are fighting for bowl elligibility.
I know the canned replies:
1. They beat 2 Big Ten teams including Northwestern. My rely: if your signature win is NU, I think we know all we need to know.
2. You can only win the games you play.. sure but the first time they get a big time opponent they shockingly lose.
There is no possible way anyone thinks Tennessee, LSU, and Florida would lose to WMU yet all are ranked lower because they played tougher schedules.
