the standings and feelings across the SEC. Since, we all know that we wanted to win it all this year and felt this was our best chance until probably 2018, obviously a lot of disappointment. Sometimes we are all so Vol focused that we fail to see what other programs and fanbases are dealing with.

1. Alabama 11-0. top of the world
2. Florida 8-2. Smug. Lucky as hell. I'm sure their fans still think they are the best ever.
3. Vols 8-3. Sky is falling.
4. Auburn 8-3. Was going to fire their coach until he won over LSU, then upset vs. Ga. Offense still incredibly one dimensional. Defense stout. Fans lukewarm about coach/program.
5. Texas A-M 8-3. Dropping like Hillary's political career. Lost their transfer qb and now barely beat the divisional school last weekend. Lose their best defensive player of the decade after year.
6. Arkansas 7-4. Up and down as usual. Blown out vs. Auburn. Salty vs. Florida. Creamed by bama. Fanbase pretty level-headed about their season.
7. Georgia 7-4. Big win over Auburn. Lost to Vandy. Not scoring any points. Fans excited about freshman qb and assuming he will be more Stafford than Bray over his career. Have to be concerned how overwhelmed Smart seems in most tough coaching decisions. Recruiting looks great.
8. LSU 6-4. Just lost a game as bad as Vols losing to SC (14pt spread), but at home and couldn't execute 2 plays from the half yard line. Have no coach for next year. Still have great recruiting class committed to play for who??
9. Kentucky 6-5. Going to a bowl!! Can run the ball. Not really recruiting like they are about to break through. Fans happy with being right where they are.
10. South Carolina 6-5. Going to a bowl, thanks to us. Fans thrilled. With new coach, they think he will pull some kids on recruiting trail. They are excited about new qb seeming to be one for a while to watch.
11. Vandy 5-6. Have a chance for a bowl. Pulled off upsets over Georgia and Ole Miss. Fans ecstatic with having a chance at a bowl. Means they have to keep their coach, though. Not recruiting with any chance of much improvement.
12. Ole Miss 5-6. New qb looked good for one game. Only team injured as much as us. About to go on probation. Fans don't believe that and still believe that Freeze will get a bunch of 5*'s on signing day.
13. Miss. St. 4-7. Offense moving the ball and qb can do some things in Mullen's offense. Defense is terrible. Stuck in place with no real reason to think another coach could make them better for now. Will be in 25-35 range in recruiting again.
14. Missouri 3-8. Weapons on offense. Losing their best defensive player. Maybe they outscore more teams next year? First year coach, so they will choose to believe he can get it done, but won't be happy in February with class.

SO by my counts, Bama and UF are of course happy with where they are. Georgia is still optimistic. LSU is in the delusional fun part of a coaching search, assuming that the next guy will be Sabanesque. Arkansas is solid. Texas A-M won't be talking about firing Sumlin for now, and will watch Texas throw money around to try and find a coach.

Nobody else really close to being in a better spot than the Vols.
