Gonna get flamed, but I'm going on record as saying Currie is a solid hire

Under his watch, K-State has built solid programs in football, men's basketball and women's basketball.

Football team's record since 2009 (Currie's first year) And remember this is KANSAS STATE we are talking about:

2009: 6-6
2010: 7-6
2011: 10-3
2012: 11-2
2013: 8-5
2014: 9-4
2015: 6-7
2016: 9-4

Total record of 65-37 in 8 years (again, at KANSAS STATE)

Men's Basketball team's record since 2009:

2009-2010: 29-8 (11-5 Big 12), Elite Eight
2010-2011: 23-11 (10-6 Big 12), NCAAT Round of 32
2011-2012: 22-11 (10-8 Big 12), NCAAT Round of 32
2012-2013: 27-8 (14-4 Big 12), NCAAT Round of 64
2013-2014: 20-13 (10-8 Big 12), NCAAT Round of 64
2014-2015: 15-17 (8-10 Big 12)
2015-2016: 17-16 (5-13 Big 12)
2016-2017: 17-12 (8-10 Big 12)

That's 5 appearances in the Big Dance in 8 years. The last few years have been rough and I know that the friction between Currie and Martin caused Frank to leave, but let's be honest, Frank Martin doesn't seem like the easiest guy to get along with anyway. Bruce Weber hasn't turned out to be a great hire, but this season still isn't over yet and the guy took Illinois to the Final Four.

Their women's basketball team is about to make its second consecutive trip to the NCAA Tournament.

Under his leadership, the AD's budget has increased by 26 mil since 2010 and has had a surplus for six straight years.

TL;DR, I think we could've done a lot worse than Currie. A lot worse.
