Just got a text from an amazing friend, retired healthcare administrator, business owner, and politician. He’s been responsible for doing a lot of amazing things for our local community, Chattanooga and the state of Tennessee. He’s had small businesses and their employees at the top of his priority list since the Virus began.
He just sent me the text below regarding his talks with Senators and other politicians in the State.
Him-Marcus I’ve been working with the local State Senators to get TN qualified for the low interest Small Business Administration loan program. 12 States had already signed up. Today we got the governor to declare TN a state of “economic emergency”. There will be $700 billion available nation wide in a few weeks. Miranda should check into the program. Not sure what the criteria is, but should be easier to get since this is a part of the $1.3 trillion economic stimulus package.
Me- Great work. What do you think about recommending a temporary lift on sales tax?
Him- Good idea. I had 3 local businessmen contact me about SBA. They had called SBA who informed them TN must declare “economic emergency” in order to qualify. Three calls to Gardenhire, Watson and Bell and was done in two days.
