for battling through QB recruiting for the '17 class. It's been a tough cycle recruiting over the top of JG last year, and they missed on a lot of guys.
They are obviously way down the board here, and McBride certainly isn't where they thought they would be with filling the QB position in this class.
But, all that being said, they completed A LOT of evaluations and recruited A LOT of kids. The fact they had the vision to actively recruit McBride for a good while without offering is also good to see.
Hopefully McBride turns out to be a player after a few years in the system. Seems like a great kid and has some raw talent that could develop nicely. They need a capable player at the 3 spot possibly this year but certainly next and beyond.
