Maybe this works out but I think we all have to admit that this is just weird. We have young offensive talent, an emerging qb, and are apparently poised to breakthrough and we decide to hire a guy who hasn't coached football in several years and is currently involved in olympic sports administration?!?!
This is an opportunity that I am sure many rising OC's would relish and we appear to be in a rush to hire someone who hasn't even been coaching football for the last several years. He can't be that highly thought of in the football world or he would have been coaching football and not olympic sports.
I love Butch but this is just so strange. I hope that the hire works out for a lot of reasons but one of them is for Butch's sake bc if it doesn't work out this is going to be a hard hire to defend.
What am I missing here?
