Help me interpret this because it appears COVID deaths are WAY lower than what media is saying?

Check the chart from the cdc website that a buddy shared with me.

Now...I’m just bringing what was shared with me, but it appears that as of 4/11/2020, there were only 11k “covid 19” deaths. You see on the right that 50+k number of “flu/pneumonia/covid19” where if they died of the flu or pneumonia which can count as “covid like symptoms”, then they were listed as a covid 19 death.

Am I reading that correctly? If I am.......we’ve been bamboozled and the media hyped a lot of people out of their jobs and businesses.
