TN QB Hendon Hooker is now #2 in Division 1 college football in QB passing efficiency rating @ 190.0. He is #1 in this statistic out of P5 conference QBs as he only trails Coastal Carolina QB Grayson McCall (who plays in the WGAF conference).
Hooker’s ridiculous 273.7 QB Efficiency Rating last night against KY helped him leap-frog OSU QB Stroud & Bama QB Young for #2nd-Place in this very important statistical category.
To put Hooker’s current 190.0 rating into perspective, Peyton Manning had a career rating of 147.1 at TN, Shuler had a career rating of 147.0, Bray had a career rating of 145.0, Casey Clausen had a career rating of 139.8, and Guarantano, Ainge, & Dobbs all had similar career ratings between 133-136.
I’m obviously not thinking this means Hooker’s talent or impact is better than some of those names (except Guarantano), but it just does to show how impressive his current numbers are in Heupel’s offense.
I really hope Hooker returns to play for TN next season, but if not it seems Heupel should have plenty of stats & numbers to attract QB recruits & transfers to play for this style of offense at TN.
